Salesforce Just Paid $5.66B for Braze

October 20, 2026

CRM shares fell on today’s deal. The harder question is whether Salesforce can actually connect what it keeps buying.

Salesforce announced this morning it will acquire Braze, the customer engagement platform, for $5.66 billion in cash, offering $47.50 per share, a 58% premium to Monday’s close. CRM shares fell over 3% in premarket while BRZE surged about 51%. The market’s split reaction tells you exactly what traders are debating right now.

I call it the “Opening Bell Breakout.” It’s the same setup I used to catch moves like 113% on GOOGL and 240% on META. I trade one simple 15-minute window each morning – and I’m usually done by 10 AM.

The Braze deal is not a one-off. Salesforce has been on an acquisition streak since at least May 2025, but the claim that it has engaged in 15 mergers and acquisitions since then is not supported by a clear public tally in the company’s own deal announcements. In February alone, it closed Momentum, a voice and video intelligence platform, and Cimulate, an AI-powered retail discovery tool. Earlier this year it paid roughly $3.6 billion for Fin, an AI customer service platform. Salesforce wants to own the data, content, integration, and agent layers AI needs to operate across the enterprise. That is the operating logic behind every deal in this sequence.

Braze itself is a real business. It serves about 2,789 customers and reported quarterly revenue of $227.2 million, up about 26% from a year earlier. Its operating loss narrowed to $18.1 million from $38.8 million, a sign the model was maturing on its own. Salesforce is buying speed: Braze responds to customer behavior in real time, coordinating personalized experiences across mobile apps, websites, email, SMS, and WhatsApp.

What’s Inside Elon Musk’s Mystery Crates?

Right now, 4,000 of these are rolling out of a high-security compound in Lathrop, California to critical locations all across America…

They have nothing to do with cars or space. And nothing to do with AI, robots or crypto…

Almost nobody knows what’s inside them. But Adam O’Dell does…

And he believes they will go down as Elon’s greatest ever invention…

Which is why he says that anyone who understands what’s going on here, and positions themselves before October 21, could walk away wealthier than they ever thought possible.

Go here now for the story – and get the name and ticker of one of Adam’s top picks to play it completely free.

The Agentforce numbers give the acquisition its strategic context. Agentforce ARR exceeded $1.5 billion as of Q2 FY27, up over 240% year over year. AI and data product ARR is about to cross $4 billion. Marc Benioff has set a target of $63 billion in revenue by FY30. To get there, Salesforce needs Agentforce to function as a genuine enterprise operating layer, not a collection of loosely connected products.

That is the question the Braze deal forces into the open. Customers will need to know which system owns journey orchestration, which handles messaging, where the customer profile lives, and which overlapping capabilities Salesforce expects them to keep using. Those decisions affect architecture, contracts, training, governance, and the amount of duplicate technology left in the stack. Salesforce already has Marketing Cloud. The product roadmap now matters more than the announcement.

The number of apps in enterprises grew from 897 to 957 year over year, with only 27% of them integrated together. And 86% of IT leaders are concerned that agents will introduce more complexity than value without proper integration. The average organization now runs roughly 275 SaaS applications, and 53% of licenses go unused in a typical month. Salesforce is selling consolidation as the cure. The risk is that each acquisition, before it is absorbed, adds to exactly the sprawl it is supposed to solve.

Musk-Bezos Rivalry Could END On Dec. 8th

According to legendary tech expert, James Altucher…

Elon Musk is about to reveal something so dominant, that it could destroy the empire that made Jeff Bezos one of the richest men alive.

Not only could Elon’s plan effectively end their 20-year rivalry…

But as Altucher points out, it could also create over 1.8 MILLION new “Musk Millionaires.”

Don’t miss your shot to be one of them.

The consolidation pressure Salesforce is betting on is not unique to CRM. Enterprise software consolidation is accelerating across the SaaS stack as mega-cap platforms absorb point solutions and CFOs cut redundant licenses.

Integration complexity remains the critical test: AI agents need consistent context across all acquired systems, and Salesforce’s success depends on reducing fragmentation, not just centralizing it. The Braze transaction is expected to close during Salesforce’s fiscal 2028, which means the integration work runs through most of next year before it produces anything measurable. Watch the Q3 FY27 earnings call for any guidance update tied to the deal’s anticipated drag on margins.
