Trump to kick off final round of Fed chair interviews this week, FT reports

Dec ⁠9 (Reuters) – U.S. President ⁠Donald Trump will soon ⁠launch a final round of ​interviews for Federal Reserve chair, ‍the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

Trump and Treasury Secretary ​Scott Bessent are scheduled to meet with former Fed governor ​Kevin Warsh on Wednesday, ⁠the FT reported, ‌citing three senior administration officials.

The administration ⁠officials said ​that National Economic Council director ‌Kevin Hassett remains in pole position ‍to succeed Powell as chair in May, the newspaper said.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the report.
