A note from our friends at MarketWise(ad)

Editor’s Note: You may recognize Marc Chaikin’s name from his appearances on CNBC, Bloomberg, or Fox Business. His client list has included billionaires such as Paul Tudor Jones, Steve Cohen, and George Soros. His Power Gauge system flashed bullish on Nvidia right before it rose 50,001%. And it just flashed bullish on another off-the-radar AI stock poised to trigger a $248 trillion “White Swan” event as soon as November 16. See below for Marc’s research and free recommendation.

Dear Reader,

The AI game is changing.

New leaders are emerging quickly.

And I can assure you: My research shows Nvidia will NOT be the #1 AI stock of 2027.

I say that with confidence because my Power Gauge system pinpointed Nvidia before it delivered 50,001% gains.

And now it’s pointing to an entirely different AI stock…

One almost no Americans have heard of yet…

But given the data I’m seeing right now…

Given the massive data center crisis facing America…

I can confidently say: This company stands to dominate the AI landscape in 2027.

Why? It’s about to launch an entirely new kind of AI data center…

One that solves every major problem facing data centers today.

This next-gen data center uses 99% less electricity than Elon Musk’s Colossus, for example…

It takes up 99% less space…

Yet this company’s new data center will be over 1,000 times more powerful than the biggest data center on earth right now (Elon Musk’s Colossus, in Tennessee).

Even better, the company supplying the tech just triggered a “bullish” signal in my Power Gauge…

Now, it’s about to bring this device to life with the flip of an “on switch.”

I anticipate a major announcement on or before November 16, when the company unveils its latest technology at the TERATEC Forum in Paris.

The time to get in is right now – before any potential news goes public.

That’s why I’ve created this brand-new presentation, revealing everything you need to know.

Not only do I explain how today’s data centers are in danger of a massive $250 trillion disruption…

Which I’m calling the AI White Swan of 2027…

I reveal the name and ticker symbol of my latest recommendation for FREE, toward the end of the presentation.

If you want the chance to make money on AI going forward, I urge you to check it out now.

Sincerely,

Marc Chaikin

SLB’s Earnings Keep Falling Even as Brent Hits $113

Brent crude settled at $113.17 on Thursday, climbing about 4% to a five-month high after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia stoked fears of supply disruption, the highest close for Brent since May 4.

On Friday morning, Brent added further ground, touching $114.72 for the highest intraday level since May 4. That is the backdrop into which SLB walks with its Q3 report before the open today.

The numbers the street is watching: analysts expect SLB to announce earnings of about $0.62 per share and revenue of $9.27 billion for the quarter. That EPS estimate implies a double-digit decline year over year even as revenue is expected to rise.

The Services Cycle Has Not Followed the Oil Price

The divergence is not new. SLB’s Q2 EPS excluding charges and credits came in at $0.55, up sequentially but down year on year. The beat softened the blow, but the direction was unambiguous: upstream spending cycles lag the commodity, and this one has been slower to rebound than many expected.

The regional story adds context. SLB’s Middle East business fell 13% sequentially in Q2 even as group revenue rose 5% year on year to $8.97 billion. The company said those disruptions were related to the conflict. International revenue was $6.67 billion in Q2 against $2.24 billion from North America, leaving SLB the most internationally exposed of the big three oilfield services names, but also more vulnerable to regional shocks.

What Traders Should Watch

SLB’s track record of surpassing EPS estimates over the past two years adds a layer of investor confidence heading into the report. Last quarter it beat by $0.04 against a $0.51 consensus. Peer Halliburton already reported third-quarter results earlier this week, and the stock traded higher following the release, a useful bar for SLB’s reaction today.

OPEC+ production decisions are the upstream variable that ultimately determines whether international capex budgets open or stay frozen. The alliance’s October output freeze signals member-state restraint that could delay the drilling activity SLB needs to see accelerate.

Beyond the headline numbers, management commentary on Middle East activity recovery and international capex budgets is where the session’s real information lives. Reuters reported Thursday that Saudi Aramco ordered remaining staff to evacuate its Dhahran headquarters as fighting intensified. Whether that translates into accelerated services spending is the question SLB’s call at 9:30 a.m. ET will need to answer.

The oil market’s reaction to Saudi facility strikes has not always followed the script. Brent sold off four consecutive sessions even after missiles struck near Riyadh and Houthis claimed a hit on Aramco’s Yanbu facilities, because flow data overrode the headlines.

SLB is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $62.28. A clean beat and constructive guidance could matter more than the year-on-year EPS decline. Halliburton and Baker Hughes will trade off whatever SLB delivers. Treat the 9:30 a.m. call as the energy sector’s opening statement for the session.

The Cheat Sheet

  • Top theme: Geopolitical risk premium in oil meets a services sector whose earnings cycle has yet to catch up with the commodity.
  • Stock to watch: SLB reports before the open; bar is about $0.62 EPS on $9.27B revenue; management outlook on Middle East recovery is the deciding variable.
  • Sector to watch: Energy services. HAL and BKR trade off SLB’s result and guidance tone.
  • Biggest risk: A miss or cautious guide on international spending sends the OFS group lower even as Brent holds above $113.
  • Biggest opportunity: A beat plus any signal that Middle East capex is stabilizing could help close the gap between SLB’s price and its average analyst target.
  • One thing to remember: Oil at a five-month high is a necessary condition for an oilfield services recovery, but it is not a sufficient one. Watch what SLB says about when customers actually open their wallets.
