ServiceNow Hit $1B in AI ACV. Now It’s Buying Deeper

Most enterprise software companies talk about AI monetization. ServiceNow is doing something harder: proving it at scale, then buying the pieces it cannot build fast enough.

ServiceNow crossed $1 billion in AI annual contract value in its Q2 2026 results, a milestone that shifts the conversation from promise to proof. The company reported Q2 revenue of $3.987 billion, ahead of the roughly $3.92 billion consensus estimate. Subscription revenue grew 24.5% year over year in Q2, or 23% in constant currency. Those are not the numbers of a platform still looking for product-market fit.

The more telling development came last week. ServiceNow has not announced it, but Israeli tech outlets have reported that the company recently completed an acquisition of Israeli startup Sweep in a deal estimated at around $400 million. Reported coverage says Sweep adds cross-platform AI agents that monitor metadata and resolve operational issues across ServiceNow, Salesforce, and HubSpot. The strategic logic is sharper than it first appears: Sweep’s agents live inside Salesforce orgs, giving ServiceNow a live intelligence layer inside its most direct CRM competitor’s installed base.

Sweep would be part of a fast 2026 acquisition run that has included Pyramid Analytics and security-focused buys such as Veza and Armis. The pace is not opportunism. It is a deliberate land-grab across governance, identity security, observability, and now agentic CRM, all feeding the same platform thesis.

That thesis centers on the AI Control Tower. ServiceNow has said its expanded Control Tower can govern and observe AI deployed across enterprise environments, including major hyperscalers. Nvidia and ServiceNow also introduced Project Arc, an enterprise autonomous desktop agent secured by NVIDIA OpenShell and governed by ServiceNow AI Control Tower.

The near-term catalyst traders should watch: ServiceNow has said new security and risk AI specialists are expected to be generally available in September 2026. That release extends the Autonomous Workforce beyond IT operations into cybersecurity response, a market where ServiceNow has positioned the Armis acquisition as a way to combine real-time asset discovery and cyber exposure management with automated workflows.

NOW shares were trading around $141 in early September after climbing roughly 28% in one month, driven by AI sector momentum and strong Q2 figures. As of September 11, 2026, shares are around $133. Wells Fargo raised its price target to $175 from $160 in August. The valuation debate is real, but the revenue architecture underneath it is getting harder to dismiss.

Current remaining performance obligations reached $13.20 billion in Q2 2026, growing 21.5% in constant currency, which means the backlog already visible exceeds the revenue the market is pricing in for the next several quarters. For traders weighing entry after a 28% run, that forward visibility is the number worth anchoring to.
